Ariya Ashkan AKA [Xcept] is an Iranian DJ/producer and live performer based in Tehran.
He started his work as a DJ since 2009 with playing house and funky tunes at underground house parties held in and out of Tehran.
By digging and getting more into understanding the many kinds of underground music scenes from different cities around the world and the never-ending world of synths and modular instruments he became more influenced by classics of Detroit techno and industrial sounds.
So he started to prove his live performing skills on electronic instruments.
[Xcept]’s new activities includes cooperation with the video artist Shaheen Aghdam, creating audio visual techno soundscapes. A collaboration between two mindset that is more about the attitude & experimentation in search for new boundaries.
